Climbing the Tetnuldi
5 days / 4 nights
About your guide, Giorgi
Giorgi is a 34-year-old native of Mulakhi, a beautiful village in Svaneti. He is a certified mountain guide and a mountain rescue guide, and works as ski patrol at the Tetnuldi Resort. Giorgi is also a certified ski instructor and enjoys training both kids and adults.
Where we will be
The Tetnuldi peak is located in the Caucaus Mountain range (Svaneti Region). Arguably, one of the most beautiful mountains in the Caucasus, Tetnuldi is permanently covered with abundant snow and ice making it a difficult climb. There are several glaciers on the slopes of Tetnuldi such as the Adishi Glacier.
From whatever side you look at Tetnuldi peak, it appears as a vertex, an almost regular pyramid with four sharp edges.
The ascent of Tetnuldi is an average grade of difficulty for sport climbing, and less risky than the Ushba or Shkhara peaks. Climbing Tetnuldi is recommended as a transitional link from simple mountaineering to more high-level and technical climbs. The location of Tetnuldi also gives climbers a unique chance to see the power and splendor of the famous peaks of Bezengi wall, located opposite the apex of Tetnuldi.
